Saltwater fishing tackle lists what you’re gonna need first you need a fishing pole some kind of rod reel are you fishing on a boat or off the pier if you’re fishing on a boat you’ll want a heavier fishing pole usually like use 30 pound test so I can catch a bigger fish so you need a rod and reel you need lures or bait usually when you go on a fishing trip they’ll have bait bags to put your bait in if you go out on the pier you’ll need a bucket or something to put your fish in you’ll need line extra tackle which is fishing hooks lures whatever you think you might need I guess I’m supposed to be telling you what you need so I usually have 5 or 10 lures in case I lose a few or I don’t like the ones that I’m fighting on depends on if you’re gonna go on a boat your own boat or a charter boat or if you’re fishing off the end of the pier if you’re on your own boat you’ll need a gaff if you’re on a charter boat they already have the gas and everything you need if you’re on a charter boat all you’ll need is some money for a hamburger and a fishing pole if you don’t have a fishing pole they’ll rent it to you let’s see you need a knife to filet it you need some ice to put the fish on as soon as you bring it out of the water so the meat is still good it’s not really good to go fishing at the meat is spoiled by the time you get back to the dock so bring ice you’ll need snacks and some kind of sandwiches I like peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches it helps my stomach from seasickness let’s see you’ll need a jacket and hat because it does get cold as soon as the sun

Gloves are nice when you wanna touch the fish sometimes you’ll catch one of the rockfish which have poisonous barbs in the spine and without gloves, you just wanna cut that off but if you have clubs and you feel brave you can grab your scorpionfish so gloves are important

bait and lures if you buy live bait you’ll use anchovies or sardines I like anchovies better than the sardines are too small they fall off the hook easily but you can use artificial swimbaits also and I use the good Ugg plugs they also use the iron spoons which come in different colors tuna like to hit those their fast-moving fish will like the irons and they’re easy to cast their about $13.00 apiece

snacks I like crackers so that way my stomach it isn’t too upset I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches so I can get good energy and they’re easy to store make sure you bring drinks I like teas because I’m not much of a water drinker get stuff that you could eat with fishy hands it won’t be so bad because after you have fish guts all over your hands every bit of food taste like sushi and that’s about all I got to say about snacks bring what you think you like bead helps eat up the stomach acid so you won’t be so seasick so if you have like Ritz crackers or something that’ll help with your seasickness

you’re gonna need a jacket and a hat if you’re gonna stay after sundown ’cause the water 65 degrees 72 soon as the sun goes down it gets cold and you wanna be able to continue fishing even when you’re cold so bring a hat and a jacket sometimes I bring the sunscreen jacket so it’s 50 SF SPF

ice if you’re gonna keep the meat you wanna bring some way to chill the fish as soon as you catch it cut it bleed it put in an ice bag or a fish bag or a bucket with ice or usually if you have a boat it’ll have a fish hole that you put but I said in my boat I would put £1020.00 bags of ice in there so I have 200 pounds of ice to make sure my fish meat was perfectly fresh and sushi-grade when I got back to the dock

the knife you’ll need a filet knife to filet your fish when you get done catching your fish so you wanna filet them into nice filets with a filet knife what knife will usually do the whole trick I like a 12-inch knife with a good flexible blade helps you cut the fish right off the skin

you need a great attitude getting up in the morning earlier than you usually do getting gas dealing with the problems getting out on the boat it’s supposed to be relaxing so just have a good attitude be happy even if you don’t catch fish is not a contest and Luckily we’re not trying to survive off the fish we catch I would go hungry quite a bit but the fun part is being out on the water enjoying the beautiful scenery where no one else could go without a boat so enjoy your day regardless of what happens

officially license you’ll need a fishing license wherever you need to be if it is offshore onshore if you’re on a pier you don’t need a fishing license but I like to be on a boat
